Why is it no surprise that John Daly got suspended from the PGA Tour for six months? Because he is a walking golfing disaster and he�s being allowed to milk everything he can from a sport that hasn�t seen him in the winner�s circle since 2006.
He is definitely colorful, but it is sad to see someone self-destruct in front of your eyes. For the last two years, daily hasn�t even sniffed the Top Ten, yet he still get as much coverage as Tiger does during the first two rounds Its only two rounds because Tiger will make the cut and Daly won�t.
Daly�s take on the suspension was �it�s not fair in reality, but it�s probably fair in perception.� Huh? I guess he means that in reality he�s not being treated fairly, but it looks like he deserves it.
When PGA spokesman Ty Votaw was asked about the suspension, he didn�t even feel it was worth commenting. Daly is like a child without any boundaries. He drinks too much, gambles away his winnings, smashes spectator�s cameras and ends up in the drunk tank.
Daly went on to say �Tim and his staff have to do what they do.� You mean protect the integrity of the PGA Tour? �Truly and honestly, I wish Tim would get to know the facts better before he makes a decision. I would like to sit down and have a nice talk with him, tell him what really happened.�
Doesn�t this sound like someone that can�t admit they were wrong? That the world is against them? As a likely alcoholic that fell off the wagon once again, he needs to hit bottom before he�ll ever be successful again. Unlike a David Duval who just lost his touch and could never get it back, Daly has the touch, but his decision-making is getting in his way. As Alcoholics Anonymous says �the first step on the road to recovery is to admit you have a problem.�
